SERMON NOTES from Last Week 11-23-2025

John Smay, ‘ Thanks-giving, Giving-thanks’

What do you think about when you wake every morning? You should be thanking the Lord.  Here are some bible verses that speak about ‘thanks’.

Psalm 100:4-5  –  The Lord will know how thankful you have been.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  – Give thanks in all circumstances… good or bad.

Colossians 3:15  – Put Christ in your heart and be thankful.

Psalm 7:17  –  The Lord is righteous. Sing His praises.

Philemon 1:4  –  Always thank God in your prayers.

Ephesians 5:20 – Thank God for everything, especially His son, Jesus Christ.

Psalms 136:1-3  –  Give God thanks for His love.

Luke 17:11-19  –  Give praise to God for healing.

Today we will talk about bible verses about giving thanks. In our daily lives, we often get caught up in our challenges and struggles that we forget to acknowledge the good things in our lives. Giving thanks is not only a lovely gesture but also a vital part of our spiritual journey. Scripture encourages us to cultivate an attitude of gratitude, reminding us that everything we have is a blessing from God. By reflecting on these verses, we can engage in a deeper conversation with God and encourage our hearts to be filled with thankfulness. Pray to God and embrace the spirit of gratitude.

Pray, Pray, Pray and give thanks this Thanksgiving!
